Today I put the final edits on the annual report.  This is my seventh one and each time I’m reluctant to press the send button.  I want to scour it for typos, which someone inevitably finds within seconds of browsing.

The first annual report I did was a horrible learning experience.  Not having a clear idea of what I wanted to do left the designer in charge of too many crucial decisions.  It was good enough as far as annual reports go but it was not good enough for me.

This year was my first move into a more conceptual design.  And after much deliberation between the designer and myself, we came to a nice conclusion.  One that I’m happy with and will be proud to display.

Testing one’s comfort zone is never easy and I found myself taking a step back and a deep breath and knowing that it will never be as bad as the first time.
